   CF clear if successful
       [DTA] = updated findfirst search data
           (bit 7 of first byte must be set)
       [DTA+15h] = standard directory entry for file (see #1041)

Notes: this function is called by the DOS 3.1+ kernel
   DOS 4.x IFSFUNC returns CF set, AX=0003h
