Introduction

 A MOD files is a 4 track music file that uses digitised instruments. It
 was originally used on the Amiga, but there are now many players and
 editors available for the PC.

 The information on the structure of the MOD file comes mostly from my
 experimentation with the program MODPLAY, but much of the information on
 protracker effects comes from information provided to me by Eric Carsten,
 and help recieved from other Amiga users on Geonet BBS.
